Why Ergonomics Matters for Businesses?

Ergonomics at office

Prolonged sitting harms us physically, mentally and emotionally, it also reduces our productivity.

In our today lifestyle, we tend to sit for more than 9 hours a day at our desks, in meetings and on our commutes (NHS.UK, 2017). Prolong sitting harms our health and productivity. It also affects the efficiency of businesses by either absenteeism and presentism. Health and Safety Executive (HSE) report 2016-17 found 8.9 million Working days in the UK is lost due to musculoskeletal disorders injuries at the workplace. This is equivalent to roughly half of a month’s days off work for each employee from which approximately 44% of work off days are associated with upper limb musculoskeletal disorders.

Efurnit aims to encourage and help people to use Ergonomics furniture for their workplace. Scientific evidence shows that Ergonomics designs that apply a human-centered approach positively affect the wellbeing and productivity.
